MANILA, Philippines – Janet Jackson is coming to the Philippines this year.
The Philippine Star reported that Jackson will kick off her world tour, dubbed “Number Ones – Up Close and Personal World Tour,” in Asia via a concert at the PICC Plenary Hall on February 4.
The report said she will sing 35 of her No. 1 songs in 35 global cities, including “Let’s Wait Awhile,” “Miss You Much,” Escapade,” “Runaway,” and “Doesn’t Really Matter.”
“In each of the 35 cities, Janet will dedicate one of her No. 1 songs to the city and will recognize 20 young people whose lives and work have enriched their communities in a major way around the world,” the report said.
Jackson joined the list of foreign artists who are lined up to perform in the Philippines this year, prompting local artists to call on the government to regulate foreign acts in the country.
The list includes Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars. (report from ABS-CBN News)
