MANILA, Philippines (ABS-CBN News) - The lone Filipino member of the band “Black Eyed Peas” has finally met his ultimate local showbiz crush, actress-host KC Concepcion.
In an interview with “Showbiz News Ngayon,” Concepcion confirmed that she met with apl.de.ap, Allan Pineda Lindo Jr. in real life, and his group of friends from the United States before they left Manila.
Apl.de.ap had spent the holidays in the Philippines. He also paid courtesy call on President Benigno Aquino III and held benefit concerts here.
Concepcion said of their meeting: "Flight niya 'yon noong gabing 'yon, So, sabi ko, ‘May sakit ako. I don’t think I’Il be able to come and say hi to you and your friends.’ Pero sabi niya, ‘Kahit coffee lang.’ So, ang dami nila. Talagang ang kasama niya ay from the States. And then, natuwa siya, masaya sila. Nag-perform pa ang ibang kasama niya. And masaya lang na mayroon akong mga kaibigan na taga-doon."
Concepcion described the Filipino- American singer as “very kind.”
"Matagal na din niya akong tina-try na ma-contact. So far, it was really nice na mayroon kaming bagong friendship. Nag-meet na kami finally,” she said.
Concepcion quickly clarified that it was not a date. "Hindi. Marami kami."
Reports said apl.de.ap gave her a bracelet. When asked if actor Piolo Pascual, who is romantically linked to her, knew about it, the actress replied: "Tanungin mo siya."
Concepcion was told that apl.de.ap has a crush on her in late 2009. When asked for her reaction, the eldest daughter of Megastar Sharon Cuneta said she was honored.
