MANILA, Philippines – Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo is on the way out of his department, President Benigno Aquino III indicated on Wednesday.
Pressed for comment on Romulo reportedly having cleared his desk at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Aquino said he wanted to make the formal announcement regarding the secretary's fate later this week.
Asked if Romulo may serve in another capacity, President Aquino said, “Now that is very possible at this time.”
“Bert Romulo is not a stranger to me. He still has contributions that he can make. It’s always the details that tie us up. I want to make sure that if I make an announcement, it’s already perfect,” Aquino told reporters after a command conference in Camp Aguinaldo.
